CTRL+Ins to copy

In Outlook 2003 both CTRL+C and CTRL+Ins could be used as “Copy” shortcut keys. Now in Outlook 2007 only the CTRL+C works.

How can I get the CTRL+Ins to work as well?

That's a good one and the option to change that behavior isn't too obvious. The option to toggle that is linked to the option to use the Insert button for Paste.

Apparently Microsoft considers the fact that combined with the Control key it acts as Copy, a side effect ;-)

You can find the option to change it here;

  • Outlook 2007
    Tools-> Options-> Mail Format-> Editor Options...-> Advanced-> section Cut, copy, and paste-> option: Use the Insert key for paste
  • Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013
    File-> Options-> Mail-> button: Editor Options…-> Advanced-> section Cut, copy, and paste-> option: Use the Insert key for paste
