Outlook and Two-Step Authentication for Outlook.com and Hotmail accounts

After setting up Two-Step Verification on Outlook.com, I've been unable to connect Outlook with my Outlook.com account and am repeatedly being prompted for my password.

I know I am putting in the correct password as it still works when I try to log on to the website.

How can I gain access to my Outlook.com account again from Outlook without disabling the Two-Step Verification?

Search Folder support in OWA 2013

After my mailbox got upgraded to an Exchange 2013 server, I now have the new Outlook Web App 2013 layout as well for reading my emails in a browser. However, I’m now missing my Search Folders.

I’ve already tried to recreate and re-upload them via Outlook as I also had to do for OWA 2010 but my Search Folders are still not visible in OWA 2013.

How do I get access to my Search Folders again in OWA 2013?

Don’t risk losing your Contacts and Calendar when using IMAP in Outlook 2013, 2016, 2019, or Office 365

I'm using an IMAP account in Outlook as part of Office 365 and I noticed that various folders now have "This computer only" behind them. These folders I indeed cannot find back on the server.

This includes my Calendar and Contacts folder as well which I really cannot afford to lose.

What is the proper way to back them up?

Make all appointments Private by default

At work, our Calendars are shared by default so that we can always lookup where someone is and to book meetings more conveniently. I’m OK with this as it also benefits me.

However, I also add my private appointments to my calendar which syncs with my smartphone and tablet so that I have only 1 calendar to manage and always see my full schedule. As I don’t want everyone in my office to see and read my private appointments, I mark them as Private which works great.

As I’m sometimes somewhat forgetful, is there also a way to have my appointments marked as Private by default to prevent embarrassing mistakes?

Receiving new mail alerts when Outlook is closed

Cache only Calendar and Contacts of a Shared Mailbox but not Emails

I've noticed that my ost-file for my Exchange account is much (much!) larger than my own mailbox.

Aside from my own mailbox, I also have the mailbox of my manager and a colleague added to Outlook as I am a delegate for them. It appears that Outlook fully caches these mailboxes which both include a lot of large emails.

Is there any way I can configure Outlook to only cache the Calendar and Contacts folder?
