Missing CAB-file

I get a message box that say can't find ZF561407.CAB.

The only thing I can do now is ctrl-alt-delete, since the box keeps popping up even if I try to cancel.

I have the Office installation disk but I can't repair or reinstall because it also says I am missing the file during this process.

What should I do?

The name of the cab-file could be different depending on the issue you are encountering. Anyway, at this point you should completely uninstall Office and then install it again and install any additional Service Pack and updates.

Automated uninstall

You can start the uninstall process via “Add Remove Programs” or “Uninstall a Program” section in Control Panel or insert the Office CD and start setup.exe.

Forced or manual uninstall

If you cannot find your version of Office there or the installer won’t let you remove Office, then you can use the FixIt or manual uninstall solution from the following Microsoft KB articles;

Outlook 2007: How to uninstall or remove Microsoft Office 2007 suites
Outlook 2003: How to uninstall or remove Microsoft Office 2003 suites

Important! Reinstalling Office won't wipe your settings but it of course never hurts to make a backup first.
