I’ve just installed a new version of Outlook on my computer and I am trying to send an email that has a picture set in the background (watermark?). I cannot find an option to do that.
Where is it, is it gone?
That option indeed can be a bit hidden and not too intuitive since the 2007 version of Outlook. The location is still the same in Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016:
- Create a new message-> tab: Options-> button: Page Color-> Fill Effects…-> tab: Picture
Use the Page Color Fill Effects option to set a picture as a background
such as a “confidential” watermark.
Note: This option is not available when you are using the “Inline reply” feature in Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016. You’ll have to press the “Pop Out” button at the top of the message to open the reply in its own window to have access to all the email options and features.
Previous versions of Outlook
If you were wondering where that option is in a previous version of Outlook;
- With Word as the email editor
Create a new message-> Format-> Background-> Fill Effects…-> tab Picture
- With Outlook as the email editor
Create a new message-> Format-> Background-> Picture…
