Do you want to conveniently manage all your mail you’ve received today even when you have rules configured which scatter them across different folders? This is my personal favorite Search Folder.

View Color catergories in Outlook 2003

We have some machines with Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007. If we use colored flags in 2003 we can see the corresponding color category in 2007, but if we select a color category in 2007 we cannot view the color in 2003.

Is there something we missing or another method where both 2003 and 2007 can use the same color coding methods either using colored flags or colored categories?

Search subfolders with Instant Search

Instant Search only works on the folder that I’m currently in or on the entire mailbox. I know I’m in the right project folder but it has too many subfolders to do my search on. Is there some way to make it possible to search the subfolders for the folder that I’m in as well?

“i” on envelope

Some messages in my Sent Items folder have an envelope figure with a circled letter i on the envelope. What does this mean?

Keeping track of communication threads

I’ve been trying to figure out how to group all the communication revolving around one topic. The topics are not on-going, as in over weeks and months. However, frequently, numerous people reply to an email over the courser of a few days but not in sequence. I want to be able to group them together or do something that keeps me keep track of all of them so I can reference.

Can’t see all unread items

The Inbox shows in parenthsis (9). However, opening up the Inbox out a blank page, or one or two messages, but certainly not nine.
Why does it show more unread items than there are actually there?

Applying views to all folders

I have made changes to my Inbox view but also want to have these changes in all my other folders. Do I have to change them one by one?

Sent Items only shows my name

When I look at my Sent Items I only see my name instead of the name of the person I have send it to. How can I change this?

The Outlook To-Do Bar is too cluttered

In Outlook 2003 and previous the Task Pad only listed my tasks. I also used flagging to mark some messages. Now in Outlook 2007 these are all combined in the To-Do Bar. How do I get the Task Pad back?

Count Selected Items

I’ve got a lot of items selected but how can I count them automatically? Windows shows in the Status Bar the amount of selected items but Outlook doesn’t.
