Data file didn’t close properly

Now whenever I open Outlook I get the following message;
“The data file was not closed properly. This file is being checked for problems.”

Now an icon of two gears has appeared in the lower right hand corner for three days now.

Attachments show up in body

For most users when they attached a document it showed up in the new line as Attachment. But for at least one user the attachment is added to the mailbody. Is there a way to toggle the location?

Message window size and location not remembered

Whenever I create a new message the associated window is really small and in an inconvenient location (half off of my Desktop).
How do I change the default size and position of the new message window such that all of it is visible on my desktop?

Email empty when changing signature

After composing my email I changed my signature. When doing that it deleted all the text from the message. What happened and how can I prevent this from happening?

No Mail icon in Control Panel

I’m trying to make a change to my mail profile and I was advised to go to Control Panel-> Mail. However, when I go to Control Panel, there is no Mail icon. I’m using Windows Vista 64-bit.

Dialog box is open

I am getting a message saying;
“A dialog box is open. Close it and try again.”

This happens when I try and create a new mail message. However there is no dialog box open.

Making gifs animate

I’ve got some gif-files in Outlook but they don’t animate. How can I make them work?

Outlook showing very big letters when composing

Everytime I compose a new email, the new message window shows a very big letters. For example, I can only see 6 English words in my 22″ monitor. The font I use is Aerial size 10. This is very annoying as I just cannot see my message clearly. I have tried to turn off anything in Accessibility and it didn’t help. When I read email, then every thing is normal.

Outlook closes on minimize

Every time I minimize Outlook it closes. How can I keep Outlook open when I minimize it?
