Sort Notes alphabetically

I am having quite the collection of notes and it getting harder to find the correct one.

Is there any way I can sort them alphabetically?

You can do this by customizing your view.

Depending on your current view, but assuming the default, the easiest would be to right click on an empty spot between the notes and click “Sort…”. In the dialog that pops-up, you’ll see that the default sorting method is based on the created date. Set this field to Subject and the notes will be sorted alphabetically.

The long way around to this dialog depends on your version of Outlook;

  • Outlook 2002/XP and previous
    View-> Current View-> Customize Current View…-> button Sort…
  • Outlook 2003
    View-> Arrange By-> Current View-> Customize Current View…-> button Sort…
  • Outlook 2007
    View-> Current View-> Customize Current View…-> button Sort…
  • Outlook 2010
    View-> View Settings-> Sort…
